Ferndale Michigan based artist David Bitterman (destroyObject, Dbit) came of age in Detroit’s 1990’s warehouse party scene. The futuristic sounds of early Detroit Techno provided a colorful palette set against the post-apocalyptic canvas of crumbling factories and dilapidated buildings. This contrast of hope for the future amid the wreckage of the past would become one of the dominant themes explored throughout his work.

Insights gleamed from early psychedelic experimentation compelled him to pursue an investigation into the nature of identity, self and mind, spending time in India and abroad studying with teachers in the traditions of Advaita Vedanta, Zen and Taoism. These themes are explored through various mediums including audio recordings, sound design, motion graphics, and multimedia installations.

When not glitching video or stuttering sounds David can be found with his wife Nathalie tending to their native habitat & permaculture gardens in the bohemian-hippie enclave of Ferndale, Michigan.
